Update at 39 weeks

We went to the Doctor yesterday to find out that our baby girl has found her way into the pelvis. This means that the likelihood of her flipping again is slim. He was hoping to induce this week but there has been no change in dilation and he does not want to risk it. Being in the medical field I totally agree with this. So looks like we are heading towards the due date. I have been having more contractions which is a good thing. Here are a few pics of the belly that has grown quickly over the past couple weeks. So we are just waiting for her to make a debut. We have also decided at the last minute to change the spelling of her name from Madeleine to Madelyn.

Folks we have a wild one here

Ok, well for those keeping up with my crazy end of the pregnancy I wanted to give an update. I am 38 weeks and my dear, sweet Madeleine has still found room to flip again. As of today, she is head down. It has become evident today that she is not dropping and the fluid level is good. This is allowing her the room to move about. At this point, she can continue to flip about if she does not drop. My doctor says there may be a couple reasons for her doing this all of which have nothing to do with her health thank goodness. Basically, he is going to induce me the second I am dilated and she is head down or take us to a C-section at this point should she flip again. A moment of reality hit today when he told me that if I was dilated today we would be heading to the hospital today for induction to catch her head down!! So we are scheduled for a Monday appointment to see what little Madeleine's plans are! Back in the waiting game!!!!

Nursery Update

Well, here we are in the final 2 weeks. We finally got our furniture in last week. I am so excited the way it turned out. I was a little worried the dark furniture would over power the room but I think adding the green to the color scheme helped out a lot. The only thing I have left at this point is to decorate the walls which will be my task this week (I hope). I plan to paint polka dots on the walls, hang her initials or a shelf behind the bed, and add something above the chest of drawers. I think a trip to Hobby Lobby is in order!! Be back with an update Tuesday with her current preferred position. Some of the pics are above and yes my lovely cat Chaz was following me around in every picture!!

It's a Tumbling Party......in my belly!!

We just got back from my doctor's appointment and wanted to give everyone an update. I apparently have a very flexible, sneaky little girl. In fact, if she could speak right now I think she may be saying:

Up, down, up, down
I am having fun bouncing all around.
There is still room to tumble
And plenty space to play
I will keep everyone guessing
Until my Birthday!!!!

That's right folks my precious baby girl has managed to the unlikely and flip again!! And still I had no idea. I think she must do these flips at night. The doctors cannot believe that I have not felt this. Apparently, she is hard to tell which end is where because her feet are tucked by her face (or at least for the brief moment on the ultrasound they were). Today the Doctor was confused by her presentation and ordered another ultrasound. That is when I saw it, her butt down low. So, now we are back in the air as to what will happen. I think we are gonna wait another week and re-ultrasound to see where she is and then decision time. She is just too hard to palpate and be sure at this point. We will see, I am up for whatever. God has definitely humbled me. He has pointed out so obviously (which I often need) through this experience that I have to let go of trying to control everything. Let me tell you the weekly changing of our options will do it to ya. We finally got our furniture last night!! It looks great, as soon as I get it all situated I will post a picture. We will keep ya posted on our little gymnast!

She keeps us guessing!!

Today was a very important day for us and as you can see our baby girl made the flip from breech to head down finally!! I am 36 weeks along and was fully convinced today that I had not felt the "big flip." Apparently, Madeleine is a sneaky girl and did at some point. I was shocked and thrilled today to learn this. I tried the old wives tale of ice on top of my belly and she did not even wake up. It was very exciting to see her again since we have not had an ultrasound since 20 weeks. She is so much bigger. Today she is estimated at 6 pounds. We were also able to see that she does have some hair which looks kinda spikey!! So as long as she does not do anything crazy like flip back we are now looking at trying a regular delivery.

Since my last blog I have had 3 more showers. My aunts put together a lovely shower for the family and friends a couple weekends ago. This past weekend I had 2 showers that were awesome. On Saturday I got to catch up with some old high school friends and on Sunday my church girlfriends put on an amazing shower. The girls in my Sunday school class pulled off a sudden last minute house switch perfectly!! What a blessing to have such giving ladies!! Thanks again girls! Some of the pics are below.

Showers of Love

The baby showers have started and I am so excited because a realization has hit that this is really happening to me and very soon!! This past weekend we had 2 showers hosted by each side of our family. We are so blessed to be bringing Madeleine into such loving families. Saturday amidst the stormy weather we had a shower at Chris' family home. It was a lot of fun and they did such an awesome job with the games and food!!

Sunday Chris and I attended the next shower hosted by my mother and grandmother for the entire family. Men included. It was such fun to watch them play the games. They were so worried about what kind of stuff we were gonna make them do (since they had never been to these kind of things). In fact I think they had a good time and even won some of the prizes!!!

Overall, after the long weekend I was quite tired. I even experienced my first swelling episode. It was crazy because it was only my left ankle!! We had a doctors appointment this week..........and yes she is still breech! We now have an ultrasound scheduled in another week to see what presentation she is in. My doctor says there is still time for her to turn but he is "getting a little worried" that she is there to stay. I thought I had myself convinced that I was ok with whatever is necessary but when he told me the news I again had a flood of emotions. I think it was hard to hear because deep down I was sure she had turned around. This time I was more mad at myself for getting my hopes up. I also did not want to hear that we will wait another 2 weeks instead of 1 week to evaluate her again. The past 3 weeks have been the longest of my life!! I wanted to start going weekly!! Now that all these feelings have passed I am praying for peace with whatever happens. I have plenty to keep myself busy. The furniture has not come in yet but should within the next couple weeks they say. We took our birth and breastfeeding classes a couple weeks ago. I think we just need a few more things and we will be ready to go!

This week we also took our maternity pictures, I am in my 35th week right now. It was fun and we got some great pictures! Here are a few of my favorites.

Well, I am off to go nest some more!

Nesting

Well, several changes are going on here in my last 7 weeks or so. As Chris explained below my nesting has started in full force. I have this overwhelming, uncontrollable urge to clean and organize the house from the past 3 years of build-up. Seriously, when I am not home I cannot wait to get there to continue my organizing spree. It is getting harder as fatigue is setting back in, but I will find a way!!

We found out last week that the furniture has been delayed a couple weeks. A little bit stressful but that is ok. However, we did get our glider in and I love it!!! I already enjoy sitting in it talking on the phone, very comfy.

Sleeping at night has been getting a little more difficult, right now it is 3am and I cannot get back to sleep from the bathroom break because my legs are tingling. Supposedly you can get a restless leg like syndrome; this must be what it feels like. So, I thought while trying to stretch my legs I would update the blog. Things have been going much better here at the end of my pregnancy. At the last doctors visit we found out she was breech. The doctor said she has a couple more weeks of good room to move then it will be a little tight. Hopefully she turns or it will be a C-section. We are praying she turns. As any soon to be new mom does, I blamed myself for this problem (I almost cried when the doctor told me). I thought it must be all those times I curl up on the couch. I really convinced myself that I had failed our baby. After really thinking and praying, I have come to realize that this happens and it is ok if I end up in a C-section. Other than the ever so pleasant constant kicking on my bladder (I wish it were the ribs) things are great.

This picture was a couple weeks ago when I was 30 weeks.

We are planning on getting some maternity pics taken in the next couple weeks. I have always wanted to do this so I am excited. I am trying to be better at taking pics of my belly more often, time just flies!! Well, I better try and get some sleep we have a childbirth class today!!
