We invested in a high pitch noise maker and a humane animal trap. Chris found a pathway through our fence that the animal must be coming in and out of and decided to place the trap there.
One week later, I was feeding Madelyn early in the morning and he came out of the bedroom with the biggest smile on his face. You would have thought it was Christmas morning! He quickly ran to the backyard with his eyes lit up to see his trap had worked. I could not help but be so proud, and then.... I asked him "now what are you going to do with it?" He replied he did not know and had to leave for work soon. I told him not to leave it here, try releasing it in the woods at the back of the neighborhood. He drove back there only to find that it was next to a bus stop full of kids. Not wanting to make a news headline "Children attacked by angry opossum," police still searching for the man who dumped the animal, Chris drove on to a quite area and opened the trap. All in all, Chris is so tickled at his catch and so am I. Now the house is peaceful again.

That is hilarious about him not wanting to set it free around children. Glad that it is caught and gone from your attic.
Eww...glad you caught that opossum. They are so scary looking when mad...it truly would have freightened the kids at the bus stop.
I am so proud of Chris! I certainly wouldn't want to have dealt with it once I caught it!
You probably did the opossum a favor by not leaving him as a new toy to entertain the kids.
OH my goodness so glad you caught that guy. It was so nice to finally meet you today! Thanks so much for coming to lunch. Madelyn is sooo precious! =)
Im sure the kids would have liked to take it to school for show and tell!
Go LUDA-Chris!
