Bobby Boucher would be so proud.....

A few days ago, we decided it would be a good time to go out and play on the splash pad for a little while. After a few minutes of hanging out, Madelyn decides that she was a little thirsty....so she walks over to one of the sprinklers and begins to drink. After quenching her thirst, she goes back to playing for a few minutes....then heads back over to the sprinkler. This goes on a few times. Crazy kid!!!

Below are a few pics of Madelyn hangin' out in the backyard....

Looking cool with her hat backwards....not sure who she learned that from?!?!

BTW, Aggie Football is less than 40 days away.....Whoop!

Madelyn and her "baby"

A few weeks ago, Madelyn took on the responsibility of taking care of her "baby". I had no idea that she would be so attached and would make sure it was taken almost everywhere she went. We had to buy a matching "baby" so that she could take care of it over at Bethany's parents house.

Below are a few pics we took of Madelyn and her new addition...

Eating...

Hanging out...

Climbing the ladder (you can tell Madelyn knows she shouldn't be on it)...

Sitting in the chair...

Taking a bath (Yes, it was fun trying to take it away from her after the bath was complete)...

Happy Birthday Bethany!

You've been around for 10,593 days (and 3,924 of those days hanging out with me for some reason).

About a month ago, your mom and I came up with a plan to surprise you on your birthday. It took a little bit of planning, but I have a little more free time nowadays (for those keeping score.....today is the 2 month anniversary). We thought it would be a good idea to have Madelyn wish you a happy birthday at work. Since Madelyn couldn't drive.....we decided that we would all hope in the truck.

A little background...ever since I've known Bethany, I've tried to give her a few "surprises" from time-to-time. Sending random cards on "unique" holidays, delivering broccoli-cheese soup and cheesecake on her window seal at her dorm while she was studying, delivering flowers for no reason.....you get the picture.

Below are a few pics of the visit....

Madelyn heading to the clinic for the "appointment"

Madelyn studing the "Chaz" breeds (for those that don't know.....every cat right now is 'Chaz')

Bethany walking into the appointment...Seeing Bethany's face when she opened the door to see Madelyn in her "A&M scrubs" was pretty cool. Bethany was glad to see us. It was nice to take a few minutes out of her busy morning to say "Happy Birthday."

Wild Child........

Over the past month, Bethany and I have noticed that our sweet little Madelyn enjoys climbing on top of various structures.......a lot. We've tried to place barricades around certain pieces of furniture, but she will find an alternate route or simply move the barricade. Once Madelyn is at the top, she will either clap, jump, or give a very "unique" laugh. Below are a few pics....

Climbing up the slide......this is her "normal" route.

Climbing on top of the end tables......see pillows in background (they don't work)

A personal favorite of mine....climbing up the stove

For some reason, she loves being on top of the desk.

RIP - Pinkie the Dolphin

It's been a tough week at our house. We lost a near and dear friend over the weekend, "Pinkie the Dolphin". We took a little trip to Corpus Christi and when we returned...you were completely deflated. I know we only spent a few weeks together, but there are so many wonderful memories we will cherish forever. I remember squeezing your left fin and hearing that wonderful whistle. Watching Madelyn carry you around while she chased the cats. Hanging out in the pool and bathtub with Madelyn. There will never be another dolphin like you Pinkie!

You will be buried next to "Al the Alien"........he totally freaked out Bethany.

....a Polka Dot Ghost?!?!??!

Madelyn and I are playing in the living room Saturday afternoon. She is having a blast climbing up the couch (the next blog is devoted exclusively to climbing....trust me), taking an object off of it, and running around the room. After 'obtaining' a remote control, cell phone, telephone, and water bottle......Bethany's black/pink polka dot pants suddenly catch Madelyn's attention. She grabs the pants and makes a mad dash for her 'house' (it's a slide). A few seconds later, I see a short polka dot 'ghost' taking a few steps towards me laughing. Crazy little girl!

....I'll be fine with a polka dot ghost in the house, but if the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man makes a visit, I'm outta here!

Madelyn's new look....

Alright, I've got a confession to make....I enjoy making 'creative' designs with Madelyn's hair. Most of the time it's a 'shark fin', occasionally she will have little 'spikes' all over her head, every once-in-a-while we will have one 'spike'. Last night, I decided to go with the 'dog ears' design (kinda reminds me of a german shepherd).

I will probably pay for this later in life......but it passes the time while taking a bath (and I unfortunately don't have enough hair to make unique designs with my own hair).

....I might go for the airplane wings look tonight!
